Rising to the Challenge

I’ve been following Papertrey Ink’s blog, {capture the moment} since I ordered their cardstock and pre-folded cards about a year ago. Yesterday, I decided to take part in today’s challenge, which consists of making a Christmas holiday-themed project using non-traditional colors.

Since the only Papertrey product I own is the cardstock, I started there, and kept it pretty simple. Using a Lasting Impressions brass template, I traced three Christmas lightbulbs, with a Copic AtYou Spica Glitter pen in black.

I then set to work coloring the images with Copic Sketch markers. I used Liquitex Acrylic Ink! in Silver for the bulb bases, mixing it with Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bombay Ink for the highlight spots. And that’s about all there is to it.

Is it Clear I’m Making Progress? Crystal.

Family Reunion

A page from an art journal, featuring a senior photo from the 1960sA recent family reunion inspired this page in my art journal. That’s a shot of organizer Auntie Bev, back when she was a bit younger, but probably not nearly as wonderful.

Prayers Requested

Handcrafted Rosary made from black and red beadAbout a month ago, my father-in-law asked me to craft a Rosary for his friend Vinnie, as Vinnie had lost his in the fire that had just destroyed his home. It took me a little while to actually make it, but I completed it today. Whenever I create a Rosary, I pray for the recipient on the beads as I string them. This time I prayed both for Vinnie and the repose of his wife’s soul, as she passed away last week. Please feel free to add your prayers for Vinnie and his late wife to mine. Thank you.
